غادر الكولومبي ريتشارد ريوس مطار هومبرتو ديلغادو في العاصمة البرتغالية لشبونة، صباح اليوم، في رحلة طويلة تمتد لأكثر من ثمان ساعات متجهًا إلى مدينة جدة، تمهيدًا للانضمام إلى صفوف نادي الاتحاد، بعد إتمام الاتفاق بين النادي السعودي وبنفيكا البرتغالي بشأن انتقال اللاعب.
ومن المنتظر أن يصل ريوس إلى جدة عصراً، على أن يلتحق مباشرة بتدريبات الفريق، استعدادًا للمواجهة المرتقبة أمام النصر، ضمن منافسات الموسم الحالي.
وتأتي مشاركة اللاعب في التدريبات في إطار تجهيزه سريعًا للظهور مع الفريق، حيث تشير مصادر خاصة لـ «عكاظ» إلى أن ريوس سيكون حاضرًا في كلاسيكو الاتحاد والنصر، وسيشارك في المباراة، في خطوة تعكس رغبة الجهاز الفني في الاستفادة من خدماته منذ بداية مشواره مع الفريق.
وكان الاتحاد قد توصل إلى اتفاق مع بنفيكا لضم ريوس على سبيل الإعارة حتى يونيو 2027، في صفقة تهدف إلى تدعيم خط وسط الفريق، على أن يتكفل النادي بجزء كبير من التزاماته المالية المتعلقة باللاعب.
ويُنتظر أن يشكل وصول ريوس إضافة جديدة إلى قائمة الاتحاد، خصوصًا مع أهمية مواجهة النصر، التي تحظى باهتمام جماهيري وإعلامي كبير، وسط ترقب لظهور اللاعب الكولومبي بقميص «العميد» للمرة الأولى.
The Colombian Richard Rios left Humberto Delgado Airport in the Portuguese capital Lisbon this morning, on a long journey lasting more than eight hours heading to the city of Jeddah, in preparation for joining the ranks of Al-Ittihad Club, after completing the agreement between the Saudi club and Portuguese Benfica regarding the player’s transfer.
Rios is expected to arrive in Jeddah in the afternoon, and he will directly join the team’s training sessions, in preparation for the anticipated match against Al-Nassr, as part of the current season’s competitions.
The player’s participation in training is aimed at quickly preparing him to appear with the team, as special sources tell “Okaz” that Rios will be present in the classic match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr, and he will participate in the game, in a move that reflects the coaching staff’s desire to benefit from his services from the start of his journey with the team.
Al-Ittihad had reached an agreement with Benfica to acquire Rios on loan until June 2027, in a deal aimed at strengthening the team’s midfield, with the club covering a large part of the financial obligations related to the player.
Rios’s arrival is expected to be a new addition to Al-Ittihad’s roster, especially with the importance of the match against Al-Nassr, which attracts significant fan and media attention, amid anticipation for the Colombian player to appear in the “Amid” jersey for the first time.
