في تطور قضائي دراماتيكي طوى صفحة قضية أثارت جدلاً واسعاً في الأوساط الفنية والإعلامية، ألغت محكمة مستأنف مصر الجديدة حكم الحبس الصادر بحق راندا رياض، مديرة أعمال النجمة المصرية أنغام، وقضت ببراءتها رسمياً في قضية التسبب بإصابة شاب عن طريق الخطأ.
وجاء هذا القرار الحاسم بعد نحو شهرين من الصدمة الأولى، حين قضت محكمة جنح مصر الجديدة في يوليو الماضي بمعاقبة مديرة الأعمال بالحبس لمدة شهر مع الشغل، وكفالة 500 جنيه لوقف التنفيذ، إثر حادثة تصادم مروعة أمام مستشفى الطيران.
وتعود تفاصيل الحادثة إلى اصطدام السيارة التي كانت تقودها راندا رياض بدراجة نارية يقودها شاب أمام مستشفى الطيران بمنطقة مصر الجديدة، مما أسفر عن إصابة الشاب بكسر مضاعف في القدم ونقله للمستشفى.
وعلى إثر الواقعة، باشرت النيابة العامة في مصر التحقيقات وأحالت مديرة الأعمال إلى محكمة الجنح بتهمة الإصابة الخطأ. ومع صدور الإدانة الأولى، سارع فريق الدفاع عن راندا رياض بالطعن والاستئناف على الحكم أمام محكمة الدرجة الثانية.
وبعد إعادة استعراض أوراق القضية وأسباب الاستئناف، اقتنعت المنصة القضائية بدفاع المتهمة، لتصدر قرارها المباشر بقبول الاستئناف شكلاً وموضوعاً، وإلغاء عقوبة السجن وإعلان براءة مديرة أعمال أنغام تماماً من التهم المنسوبة إليها.
In a dramatic judicial development that closed the chapter on a case that sparked widespread controversy in artistic and media circles, the New Cairo Appeals Court overturned the imprisonment sentence against Randa Riyad, the manager of Egyptian star Angham, and officially ruled her acquitted in the case of causing injury to a young man by accident.
This decisive decision came about two months after the initial shock, when the New Cairo Misdemeanor Court sentenced the business manager to one month in prison with hard labor, along with a bail of 500 Egyptian pounds to suspend the execution, following a horrific collision in front of the Aviation Hospital.
The details of the incident date back to the collision of the car driven by Randa Riyad with a motorcycle ridden by a young man in front of the Aviation Hospital in the New Cairo area, resulting in the young man suffering a compound fracture in his foot and being transported to the hospital.
Following the incident, the Public Prosecution in Egypt initiated investigations and referred the business manager to the Misdemeanor Court on the charge of causing unintentional injury. With the issuance of the initial conviction, Randa Riyad’s defense team quickly filed an appeal against the ruling before the second-degree court.
After reviewing the case documents and the grounds for the appeal, the judicial panel was convinced by the defendant’s defense, issuing its direct decision to accept the appeal in form and substance, cancel the prison sentence, and declare the complete acquittal of Angham’s business manager from the charges against her.
